for some context behind the post: I’m in Singapore, we split our pre-university education into three sections, Primary (7-12), Secondary (13-16) and Junior College (17-18). It is slightly different from the American version where Middle School is 11-13 and High School is 14-18.
This means this is the second farewell of a school I had within 2 years.

it’s just very weird to think about it this way, it felt like I just entered JC, starting fresh from the nonsense I’ve done. And yet, my 2nd farewell assembly completed. I’m less than 570 hours away from my 1st written paper. It’s so weird to put that into perspective, just under 25 days stand between me and the final lap.

maybe i could have prepared well.

maybe i could have taken my preliminary examinations a bit more seriously.

it’s obviously too late to think about that, the past cannot be changed, i can only focus on the future

yet it feels weird, I was thinking to myself in the night of 31 December 2025, this is it. this is almost the final stretch. And I’m here. Just a few more days remain.

I don’t know why I wanted to make this, I wanted to just dump my thoughts and feelings i guess.

I’m not the kind of guy that gets emotional easily (maybe because of society’s expectations). but i still feel like tearing up.

i had the same feeling 2 years ago: most of my classmates are gonna be strangers that i see at most once every year. the same will happen now as well.

honestly, i feel that the secondary school I was in spoilt me, there were much less memorable experiences in JC than in Secondary school.

I’ve been thinking, that too much thinking
Can start me sinking down

I think AJR has a song for any stage of life that you are in. Whether you are down, or up, divorced or in a car, they have amazing songs to listen to.

Maybe I will look back at this post 5 months later after getting my results. Hopefully future me is proud of my current struggles. I hope I can make my future self proud and not disappoint my parents. I hope I don’t repeat the mistakes done in my O’ Levels.

I’ll be away until about 19th November. See you then!
